Soil conditions: The warm Baden Sea left behind it in South Moravia massive sediments of calcium gravels, sand, and clays that today form the most important parts of the Novosedly vineyard tracts. The geologic composition is comparable to that of the Médoc district of Bordeaux, where tertiary sediments were deposited by the same sea as that of the Novosedly area.
